pre-covid bike excursion with a circle of dear, close friends on the VA Creeper Trail.
Puzzle, Bike, Fire in the hood
Story Coming Soon.
Christmas Weekend in Garrett Farms, Durham, NC 2020. Piecing together a new Christmas gift puzzle, a beautiful blue-lavender seascape must be approached differently. I am operating with a mind jostled by a concussion on October 31, the last day of NC Early Vote. My attention span can be suddenly thwarted by mysterious waves of brain-cramping sword thrusting pain behind an eye or ear.
*Note: typing with my eyes shut.
I also received a magnificent Christmas gift of a bike. Another good concussion-challenge gift. How can we learn about racial, class and gender equity from this moment? Could we learn to love ourselves and recognize how our shortcomings or mistakes are not “who” we are? How are we to love ourselves fully if we are constantly editing our expression, glossing-over problems and shushing ourselves and each other in these teachable, morbid and miraculous moments? Your engagement invited here!

*Earlier this year I discovered that typing and playing the piano with my eyes closed releases my mind from distractions. Try it?
